HAMLIN — Lincoln County High School has found their new girls basketball coach, as assistant Wendy Ferguson Mosteller moved up the ranks and was named head coach. Lincoln County High School had several athletes compete in the WVSAC State Track and Field Championships on May 23 and May 24 at Laidley Field in Charleston. PRESTONSBURG, Ky. — Lawrence County moved one win shy of defending its 15th Region softball championship as the Bulldogs mercy-ruled Belfry 11-1 in five innings in a Wednesday night semifinal at StoneCrest Park in Prestonsburg. The Bulldogs scored early and often against Pirates ace pitcher Molly Fahm, plating three runs in the first inning and five more in the second to jump in front to an 8-1 lead.

NAUGATUCK — Head coach Garland "Rabbit" Thompson and the two-time defending Class A Tug Valley Panthers are hosting a youth basketball camp from June 4 to June 6. LEXINGTON, Ky. — In her lone season running track at the high school level Belfry's Myra Bevins performed good enough to capture a final eight finish at the KHSAA Track & Field Championships on Thursday at the University of Kentucky. Bevins competed in the 100 meter dash and finished 7th in the state in the 1A meet with a time of 12.87. The winner, Mahari Crump of Lexington Christian, finished with a time of 12.41.
