Mingo Central and Mingo County School Board held weekly events and spoke about the staff in Mingo County. Mingo County Board of Education went to social media to talk about the teachers of Mingo County. “Happy National Teacher Appreciation Week to all of our wonderful staff across Mingo County,” the social media post said.

    WILLIAMSON — The Mingo County Commission held their first meeting for the month of May las Tuesday with the Town of Delbarton being a topic of discussion about their annual Homecoming Festival. Albert Totten represented the festival as they requested financial assistance for the festival. Totten has been representing since 1996 and thanked the county commission for the use of the county wide entertainment stage that Delbarton has used in previous events.

    GILBERT – A Johnson City, TN man was arrested on May 11 after an altercation at Twin Hallow Camp Ground. Larry Michael McClanahan, 55, was arrested for several charges of attempted murder after firing a gun into a cabin. The criminal complaint states on May 11 at midnight deputies with the Mingo County Sheriff's Department responded to a 911 call located at Twin Hollow Camp Ground in Gilbert, WV. MECCA informed officers that gunshots were being fired.
