Sure, Adam Byatt has a Michelin Star. And yes, he also runs one of London’s best restaurants, Trinity. But does he have the real flex – a ridiculously photogenic, heritage-soaked, neighbourhood brasserie on the banks of the Thames? Well, as of mid-July, also yes.

Electric Shuffle combines the ancient art of pub games with the slightly less ancient art of cutting-edge computing. And like all of London’s best activity bars, it’s just competitive enough to ruin your friendships make it genuinely fun, exciting, and memorable.

It’s official: Big Mamma Group is opening its next showstopper of a restaurant in Canary Wharf. Yes, the culinary empire built on maximalism is, at long last, moving into the London neighbourhood defined by its own excesses, in a what-took-you-so-long move of pure hedonistic symmetry that feels like fate.

Duchy has just opened in Shoreditch, and it has some big shoes to fill. The space it’s housed in used to be Leroy – a rare combination of reasonable prices & a Michelin Star that sadly had to close last year.

Eel sushi bar has just opened in Notting Hill – and because it comes to us from the edgily cool, we-sit-at-the-back-of-the-bus team at Dorian, it’s got “no omakase horsesh*t and ponce” and is just a sushi bar. Which, frankly, is actually quite refreshing. Especially because they’re explicitly labelling it as “low priced“, which coming from these guys is a fairly bold move.

Okay, so Ellory was a restaurant that opened back in 2015, won a Michelin Star, and then closed a couple of years later. The team went and reinvented it as Leroy, won a Michelin Star, and closed a couple of years later. Now, team members from Leroy have decided to reinvent it as Duchy, and are probably hoping to continue exactly one half of that pattern. The two guys spearheading this reboot are chef Simon Shand and manager Alex Grant.

We’ve decided to start a series of supperclubs. What took us so long, we know. The concept is simple: basically we take one wildly talented chef – like, say, Jack Coggins of the insanely hot-right-now Goodbye Horses – and we drop them into an unexpected corner of London, or a residential neighbourhood that wouldn’t normally see their style of cooking. Like, for example, East Dulwich. We’re calling it Dinners Next Door.

It seems strange to say it, but SO|LA is the only Michelin Starred restaurant in London serving Californian-inspired cuisine. And yes, for most people the last Californian-inspired meal they had may well have come from a drive-through – but let’s just remember that the state is a goldmine of stunning produce, great wine, and indeed unceasing culinary creativity. And SO|LA is probably its premier exemplar here in the UK, having won 3 AA Rosettes and a Top-40 spot on the National Restaurant Awards.

We’re throwing a party. Not the sort with tiny canapés and awkward small talk. No. Rather, the sort that previews the all-new riverside terraces of 18th century neoclassical palaces run by a wildly talented team on the bleeding edge of London’s bar & restaurant scene, with complimentary welcome cocktails (yes, plural) plus 50% off food & drink all night, too. That kind of party.
