A combination of gusty winds, low relative humidity, and abnormally dry conditions have led to elevated fire danger today. With a wildfire currently burning in Old Fort, smoke plume will shift from blowing to the Southeast, to the North tomorrow, taking smoke right into Old Fort. Winds in the 25 to 35 mph range also have a downslope component today.

Potential Tropical Cyclone Nine. (WLOS)The current track puts the Western Carolinas in the path of heavy rain, possible flooding and strong winds on Thursday into Friday.
