In a little over a week, the 2025 NFL Draft will begin, and dozens of football players with ties to the Carolinas will have their lives changed forever. Well … “dozens” might be an understatement. Because this year’s local class is pretty stacked. In February, the NFL Scouting Combine invited over 30 players with connections to North Carolina and South Carolina to participate in the annual festivities. That Carolina group included some of the draft’s top talents.

AUGUSTA -Jon Rahm squeaked into weekend play at the Masters. The 2023 champion finished the tournament's first two rounds at 2-over 146, landing on the cut line to advance to Saturday and Sunday. Some big-name contenders, former winners and feel-good hopefuls missed out. Brooks Koepka, twice a runner-up here, is done after ending his round on Friday with a bogey at 17 and an 8 at 18, tumbling to +5 for the tournament.

A line of strong storms will slowly progress through Georgia on Sunday with risk of damaging winds, flash flooding and a brief tornado threat. Storms will enter the northwest part of Georgia by mid-morning and advance throughout the region before existing Monday afternoon. The National Weather Service cited a growing concern for flooding given the slow-moving nature of the system.
