Peoria Police said a victim was taken to a local hospital in critical condition. Police said there are no public safety concerns. PEORIA (25News Now) - A man received minor injuries after being hit in the face with a weapon during an early Sunday home invasion in Peoria. Police were called around 4:15 a.m. to the 300 block of East Corrington for a nine-round ShotSpotter alert. They found the victim who told them of the home invasion in the 2800 block of North Missouri. He told police two unknown men wearing ski masks kicked in his front door and entered the home.

STREATOR (25News Now) - A man has been arrested and charged in connection with a Sunday shooting that left a woman with life-threatening injuries in Streator. Streator Police said Luis Y Urena was identified and arrested Thursday and charged with aggravated battery with a firearm and home invasion. The shooting was reported around 4:05 a.m. Sunday in the 500 block of South Illinois Street. The victim was treated at OSF in Streator before being transported to another facility.

NORMAL (25News Now) - Two Normal Police officers - and Normal firefighters - creatively helped a group of out-of-state travelers Thursday after a crash derailed their plans. The police department said Officers Larimore and Evans responded to a crash that left the travelerβs vehicle severely damaged. Everyone was OK but their plans, not so much. The officers had to get creative as there were no rental cars available in the evening.
