Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Lacrosse Dominates Catawba

The Lenoir-Rhyne Women’s Lacrosse team will be heading into the conference tournament on a high note after defeating Catawba 19-3 in their final home game of the season on Wednesday. This win secured the #5 seed in the SAC Tournament for the Bears, and they will travel to #4 seeded Anderson on Tuesday to face off against the Trojans in the first round. Catawba scored the opening goal before LR went on a monster 13-0 run.

The Lenoir-Rhyne Men’s Lacrosse team left no doubt against Catawba on Wednesday afternoon, winning 23-9 at Moretz Stadium. Leading the way on the day for the Bears was Jarrett Huff, who finished with two goals and four assists in the win. The Bears have now closed the season on an eight game winning streak, outscoring their opponents 154-64 during that time. It was a slow start for both teams, as the score was 1-1 halfway through the opening quarter.
Hickory Crawdads Fall in Extra Innings to Salem

The Salem Red Sox defeated the Crawdads 4-0 in ten innings on Wednesday night in front of 1,297 fans at LP Frans Stadium. The Crawdads, playing as their Llamas de Hickory identity for the second time this season, were deadlocked through nine frames with Salem as four Hickory pitchers combined to surrender just four hits while striking out 16 Red Sox hitters.

App State Women's Tennis Place Three on All-Conference List

After a record-breaking regular season, three App State Tennis players earned All-Conference honors as the Sun Belt Conference announced its postseason awards on Wednesday. Junior Savannah Dada-Mascoll was named to the All-Conference First Team for singles, while sophomore Naledi Manyube earned second-team singles honors. Additionally, the duo of Dada-Mascoll and Taya Powell secured a spot on the All-Sun Belt Doubles Second Team.
Appalachian State Baseball Falls to ETSU

App State Baseball trimmed a six-run deficit to two in the middle innings and retired 11 consecutive batters at one point in the contest but fell to ETSU 13-6 on Tuesday at Smith Stadium. After falling behind 6-0 early, App State (21-19) battled back in the contest. Juan Correa uncorked a three-run home run in the third inning – a 420-foot blast to center field – to get the Mountaineers on the scoreboard.
Hickory Crawdads Drop Series Opener to Salem

The Salem Red Sox used a trio of four-run innings to claim their first win of the series, defeating the Hickory Crawdads by a 12-6 score at LP Frans Stadium on Tuesday night. The Red Sox scored four runs in the second and third innings to give Salem starter Steven Brooks an 8-1 lead through the early frames. The four-run outbursts were the first of that magnitude surrendered by Crawdads pitching in 2025.
Lenoir-Rhyne's Primm Named SAC Softball Player of the Week

The South Atlantic Conference announced its WePlayed Sports Softball Players of the Week for games played during week ten of the 2025 season. Lenoir-Rhyne’s Madison Primm was named the Player of the Week. Primm, a sophomore from Stem, N.C., helped the Bears to a 4-0 week which clinched the number two seed in the SAC Tournament. Primm went 8-for-15 (.533) at the plate and tallied nine RBI’s, five runs, two home runs, and one double.
Brown Earns Second South Atlantic Conference Track Athlete of the Week Honors

The South Atlantic Conference announced its WePlayed Sports Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week for meets contested during the fourth week of competition. Lenoir-Rhyne’s Alexis Brown earned the track honor. Brown, a junior sprinter from Mableton, Ga., won the 100m Dash at the Aggie Invitational with wind-legal time of 11.08 seconds, the second fastest legal DII time of all-time, just behind her own record of 11.04.
