The Preston Indians competed in a very competivie 5A State track meet at Mountain View High School on May 16-17. The boys team finished Preston finished ninth overall with 30 points and the girls were 11th in also with 30 points. Bishop Kelly rolled to the boys title with 113 points, while Skyline was a distant second with 57. The Moscow girls were triumphant with 95 points, followed by Bishop Kelly with 79.

A lack of depth prevented Preston's boys wrestling team from ultimately contending for a district title, but it was still a good day for the Franklin County program. The Indians crowned four champions and had three other finalists at the 5A Fifth District Championships, which were contested Wednesday in Preston. Century reigned supreme, as expected, with 346 points, followed by Pocatello with 200 and Preston with 166.

SMITHFIELD — It was the kind of performance the Bobcats were hoping for to kick off the final week of the regular season and on Senior Night, to boot, which was an added bonus. Sky View went on early runs of 9-0 and 8-0 and led by double digits nearly the rest of the way en route to a 55-39 victory over Mountain Crest in a Region 11 girls basketball game on Tuesday evening.
