Compared To Other Speakers Once the job of several pieces of audio equipment and their associated cables, party speakers are the all-in-one answer to pop-up events and DIY karaoke venues. Party speakers like the Sony ULT TOWER 9AC combine a little bit of everything like a Swiss Army knife, so while a single speaker isn't a true substitute for a proper PA or sound system, its appeal is its ease of use and flexibility.

Compared To Other Headphones Much has changed in the wireless market since the original Beats Powerbeats Pro Truly Wireless were released in 2019. Although not without controversy, the first generation was initially lauded for the long battery life and secure fit, but the intervening years have seen a steep rise in the popularity of ANC-equipped earbuds, and the market is now full of competitors with higher IP ratings.

Compared To Other Speakers The JBL Flip 7 is the smaller sibling of the JBL Charge 6, which, despite the lower number, is actually from the same generation of portable speakers. Due to its larger size, the Charge 6 houses a larger battery, effectively doubling how long it lasts compared to the Flip 7, and the Charge 6 is capable of greater low-end extension for a bit more even bass. You can even mate them up using Auracast for Party Boost Mode, or add a second Flip 7 instead for a stereo pair.

Compared To Other Headphones Many of the closed-back audiophile headphones we've reviewed are either purpose-built studio headphones with less bass emphasis or considerably more expensive than the FIIO FT1, like the Beyerdynamic DT 1770 PRO or the Focal Elegia. We've only reviewed open-backed HiFiMan headphones, so while the closed-back Sundara model might be a competitively-priced alternative, we haven't tested them.

Differences Between Sizes And Variants The SteelSeries GameBuds come in PlayStation ('Black' or 'White') and Xbox ('Black') versions. Our unit is the PlayStation variant in 'Black' (here's the label), and we expect the 'White' PlayStation colorway to perform similarly. Although many functions likely crossover between the PlayStation and Xbox variants, such as mobile app compatibility and the basic design, we've only tested the PS variant, so our results are only valid for this version.
