The '90s, arguably, constituted the last era of rock music. When boy bands and pop stars put an end to rock's five-decade reign over popular music, the decade of grunge and jangly college music was nearly forgotten. Save for classic rock radio holding the torch for Pearl Jam, Nirvana and Stone Temple Pilots, much of the core of what was indie rock (before indie rock was even a thing) nearly vanished.

While the Rockets appear to be ascending as one of the NBA's most talented young teams, the Warriors are on the back end of one of the most remarkable runs in league history — four titles and countless postseason appearances. They have a 16-7 record against the Rockets in the postseason including a brutally painful loss in the 2018 Western Conference Finals when then-Rocket Chris Paul hurt his hamstring dooming the Rockets best chances of winning a title in that era.

Prior to this deal, players like Carlos Correa and George Springer had been allowed to walk. Just this offseason, Alex Bregman left for the Red Sox. But, in those cases, there were question marks surrounding the now former Astros (age, health) that made them think twice about doling out huge, long contracts. Whose house?????

I have not posted on Twitter in months now, but I have to amplify this. I JUST RODE all the way down Austin today to run errands. It was fast, efficient and, most importantly, SAFE! So much for Whitmire's vaunted concerns with safety on city streets. JFC.

“We would like to take out the dedicated bike lane and use sharrows instead.” @houmayor John Whitmire is coming for Austin Street. https://t.co/ppSGwCloaW

Stopping in for a quick moment to ask if any of you Gen Xers or Millennials who travel for concerts would be willing to talk to me about a story. DM me. Thanks!
