In what remains an uncertain trade environment, the Port of Los Angeles (POLA) and the Port of Long Beach (POLB) saw volume gains in March to end the first quarter, according data respectively issued by the ports. POLA reported that total March volume came in at 778,406 Twenty-Foot Equivalent Units (TEU), for a 4.7% annual gain. POLA exports, at 385,531 TEU, posted a 1.6% annual gain, and exports, at 122,975 TEU, fell 15% annually. Empty containers, at 269,900, posted a 23% annual increase.
