A New Jersey driver has been charged more than six months after a crash with a tractor-trailer on Routes 1 & 9 in Linden killed his two passengers. Devon Scuccimarri, 28, of Piscataway faces two counts of vehicular homicide, the Union County Prosecutor’s Office said Thursday. The northbound Scuccimarri was speeding when he blew through a red light and collided with a southbound truck turning left onto South Stiles Street, officials said.

A 27-year-old Colombian national elbowed an immigration officer in the face as she attempted to arrest him in Roselle earlier this year, federal prosecutors said. Hector Villegas-Alvarez is charged with assaulting a federal officer, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers were conducting surveillance outside of Villegas-Alvarez’s home on Feb. 23 to arrest him because he is in the country illegally, according to a criminal complaint.

A New Jersey man has been sentenced to 26 years in prison for robbing and killing a man in Delaware. Deontay Willingham, 35, of Bridgeton, approached the man on a street corner in Wilmington on June 11, 2023 and struck up a conversation, the Delaware Attorney General’s Office said. Willingham then shot Dennis Davis twice and stole the 37-year-old’s necklace near the corner of East 23rd Street and North Market Street, officials said.

A teenager was injured after being struck by a hit-and-run driver Wednesday night in Pompton Lakes, authorities sad. The teen was hit by a dark-colored sedan in the crosswalk at the intersection of Hamburg Turnpike and Ramapo Avenue at about 9:35 p.m., Pompton Lakes police said.
