Church bells rang Monday evening as a black bunting was hung around the doorway of the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. This black bunting is a traditional and visual sign of grief and respect for the deceased is a way to let the community know the Church is in mourning.

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCSC) - The Lowcountry Strawberry Festival wrapped up its final day at Boone Hall on Sunday, and organizers said this year’s event has been berry sweet. The popular six-day event featured everything strawberry - from strawberry kettle corn to strawberry shortcake, and, of course, the fruit itself. Festival-goers even had the opportunity to pick their own farm-fresh strawberries right from the stem.

Many gathered to celebrate the 40th year of the World Grits Festival this Saturday. Mika Gadsden, Director of Sustainability for the City of Charleston, said the environmental corridor project is called The Just Corridor-- named in honor of pioneering African American biologist and Charleston-native Ernest Everett Just.
