Tuesday evening update:Today was the last sunny day for the next week! Starting tomorrow morning, clouds will take over with rain chances on the rise. A low pressure system out to our west will move this way and stall out in the Southeast. Along the stalled front, a cut off low will develop and meander in our area, until eventually exiting into the Atlantic mid next week.

Monday evening update:We had a chilly morning with a low of 49! Warmed up nicely in the afternoon though to a high of 78 under mostly sunny skies. Winds were breezy, but now calm at night with clear skies. With the clear skies, calm winds, and dry air, we will have strong radiational cooling again with temperatures near 50 Tuesday morning. Another warm afternoon though with low to mid 80s and plenty of sunshine.

Friday evening update:It was a very warm day with a high of 89 in Augusta (the warmest day of the week!) With plenty of warmth and moisture, a couple strong to severe storms formed in our northern counties. There is a marginal risk of severe weather for our counties north of I-20 for the rest of Friday evening. Most of us will stay dry with just cloudy skies, and lows in the low 60s. Saturday morning will start out dry and mostly cloudy. Temperatures will warm into the mid 80s in the afternoon.

Thursday evening update:Friday: Dry morning in the low 60s. In the afternoon and evening, some isolated showers and storms will develop (only at 20% chance though). It will be the third day in a row with a high of 88 in Augusta, and it will be muggy again. Saturday: Some early morning showers possible, but the late morning and early afternoon looks dry. I would try to make your outdoor plans between 8am-1pm.

Wednesday evening update:I hope you had a nice day and enjoyed the warm temperatures! We made it to around five degrees above average, and five degrees warmer than yesterday. Skies were partly cloudy earlier, but now it’s mostly clear with no rain in sight. Expect upper 50s to low 60s when waking up Thursday morning. The temperatures in the afternoon will be the same as they were today, reaching the mid to upper 80s.

An incredibly rare event from an isolated storm! Ping pong sized hail came down excessively in Edgefield, SC from around 5-7pm Friday, May 2nd. This was accompanied by 60+ mph wind gusts and torrential rain ⛈️ Thank you to Candi Lalonde for sharing. #hail #edgefieldsc #scwx https://t.co/FzeradbY5A
