Right on cue for the start of Hurricane Season…The National Hurricane Center is monitoring an area of low pressure, currently bringing showers and storms to South Florida. As this disturbance moves into the Atlantic, there is a VERY LOW chance that it could gain tropical characteristics. Think of this as just a rainmaker for us, and the winds will be breezy but nothing to worry about! I am not concerned about flooding or strong storms at this time.

Monday evening update:Happy Monday! I hope you are enjoying the dry weather to start the month of June. Tuesday will be another warm and dry day. We will start out with temperatures in the low 60s, and then climb to the upper 80s in the afternoon. It will be mostly sunny, but we will still see some lingering smoke from the wildfires all the way up in Canada. High pressure is over the CSRA for now, keeping us dry, but an area of low pressure will make for a rainy end of the week.

Thursday evening update:With the showers and storms today, we picked up over an inch of rain today in Augusta. That now makes our total for the month of May up to 8 inches!! This puts us in fourth place for the wettest May on record. Before the month ends, we have one more rain chance, and that will come into the picture Friday afternoon. A cold front will bring a potent line of storms between the hours of 1pm-8pm Friday.
