Tuesday evening update:After a rainy start to Masters week, we are back to beautiful dry weather! Not only is it dry, but it’s completely sunny and feeling comfortable. High temperatures reached the mid 60s to low 70s. Tonight and tomorrow morning will be the chilliest point of the week, with low to mid 40s. Some communities could even dip into the upper 30s with mostly clear skies and light winds. Tomorrow afternoon brings more of the same, meaning sunshine and mild temperatures again.

Monday evening update:Unfortunately, Masters week had a soggy start, with widespread rain and storms pretty much all day long. Rainfall totals reached 1-4″ today, with the highest totals north of I-20. We were spared when it comes to severe weather though, with no storm reports in the CSRA. Showers are now exiting, with clearing skies and cooler air settling in tonight.

Friday evening update:Mostly dry on this Friday evening with just a few stray showers and a weak storm or two possible. Temperatures reached the upper 80s in several spots, and we will go right back to it on Saturday and Sunday afternoon. Low temperatures will stay in the low 60s through Monday morning. Expect a mix of sun and clouds with a Summer-like day tomorrow! We will have a strong cold front moving in Sunday night into Monday afternoon.

Monday evening update:We had numerous severe thunderstorm warnings, a tornado warning in McCormick, Edgefield & Saluda counties, and an areal flood advisory for Richmond County. The tornado warning did not end up becoming confirmed. The severe thunderstorm warnings led to some reports of trees and powerlines down (see storm report thread). We had a few thousand brief power outages, but all power has been restored. The highest wind gust was 55 mph in Wilkes County.

Tuesday evening update:Beautiful weather today! We are sunny, dry and warm with temperatures topping off in the mid to upper 70s. The only problem with this setup is the fire danger threat. The South Carolina burn ban continues until further notice, and there is a special weather statement in effect for the CSRA discouraging burning due to the low humidity and gusty winds. Today, winds are coming out of the southwest allowing us to warmup, but a weak cold front will soon pass by.

4 YEARS AT WJBF 💙📺 It’s hard to believe it’s already been 4 years at this incredible station. I went from being the weekend morning meteorologist to the weekday evening chief meteorologist…from just graduating college to now getting married. Here’s to another great year ahead! https://t.co/eTeb4IiIqx
