President Tony Gallo and Vice President Eve Gallo take with Jennie about their very personal connection to the cause. Eve had leukemia as a teenager. She and her family were granted a special hunting and fishing adventure, which was life-changing for her. As a cancer-free adult, she wants to give back.

    AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF)– Piedmont Augusta Foundation strives to make a positive difference in our community, from patient assistance to employee scholarships to vital equipment purchases. The Jernigan Memorial Golf Tournament raises funds to help provide better care for Piedmont Augusta patients. Past tournaments have supported the stroke program, NICU, and the Jernigan Cancer Center. This year, funds raised will support Piedmont’s colorectal cancer program.

    AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF)– Our community hospital, Piedmont Augusta, has the largest group of colorectal surgeons in the region. And they want everyone to be screened appropriately to prevent colorectal cancers. Piedmont’s Chief Medical Officer is colorectal surgeon Dr. Barry Jenkins. He says while colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths, it’s also one of the most treatable, if caught early.
