He will take on a new role in 2026. Ken Gormley, the long-time president of Duquesne University, will be stepping down from his role as president in 2026. On July 1, 2026, he will assume the new role of chancellor at the request of the board. It's a role that several past presidents at Duquesne have taken on after serving as president. “I’m a firm believer in strategic, long-term planning,” Gormley said is a prepared statement.

When I last wrote a column about artificial intelligence back in December 2023, businesses were mostly “Wild Westing” it. At the time, I jumped onto ChatGPT — just coming into its own — to generate a couple of questions for the “Future of AI in the Workplace” panel I moderated. I fully disclosed during the panel that I was using AI — it was part of the story, after all — but I was winging it a bit for sure.
