MOAB, Utah — A Colorado man died in a motorcycle crash last week in Canyonlands National Park, according to the National Park Service (NPS). On Thursday, NPS rangers responded to a single-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle at the entrance to the Island of the Sky district in the park. The San Juan County Sheriff's Office and Utah Highway Patrol also responded. The victim, identified as Bruce Griffith, 71, of Copper Mountain, was pronounced dead at the scene, NPS said.

YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, Wyo. — A man was injured in Yellowstone National Park when he was gored by a bison, the National Park Service (NPS) said on Wednesday. It was the first reported incident of a person injured by a Yellowstone bison this year, and happened only about two weeks after the park opened entrances for the summer season. The incident happened about 3:15 p.m. Sunday in the Lake Village area of the park.

LA QUINTA, Calif. — The Riverside County Coroner's Bureau on Friday released the cause of death for Jeff Sperbeck, who died after he fell off a golf cart driven by retired Denver Broncos quarterback John Elway. The cause of death was listed as blunt head trauma, and the manner of death was an accident.

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. — A man who was reported missing in March, and was found dead in his apartment weeks later, died of natural causes, according to an autopsy obtained by 9NEWS. Jason Thomas Owen, 51, hadn't been since or heard from since March 10. The Douglas County Sheriff's Office said on March 25 that he was possibly a danger to himself and also linked his disappearance to that of a missing woman. On April 7, the sheriff's office said Owen was found dead in his apartment.

AURORA, Colo. — East Middle School was briefly on lockdown as a precaution Thursday afternoon after a report of gunshots in the area. The lockdown was lifted about 4:30 p.m. The school, at 1275 Fraser St., will do a controlled release for students, said an Aurora Public Schools (APS) spokesperson. There was no active situation inside the school and all students and staff are safe, the spokesperson said. Aurora Police said the report of shots fired was at 13th Avenue and Frasier Street.
