Over 30 medical groups in England and Wales are calling for a reform in abortion law following an “unprecedented” rise in prosecutions against women and girls who have terminated their pregnancies. Led by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, the joint letter suggests that criminal investigations of abortions cause unnecessary “trauma and cruelty” for those investigated.

Former world heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury has announced that he has retired from boxing. In a short video uploaded to Instagram, the 36-year-old told fans: “It’s been a blast, I’ve loved every minute of it” as he declared his departure from the ring. Fury included a cryptic message in his announcement as he said: “I’m gonna end with this: Dick Turpin wore a mask” while pointing at the camera.
