You can have a totally free night on the town this summer with a little planning. All you have to do is gather your pals, make some egg salad sandwiches, fill up your water bottles and then ride your bikes to one of these cool concert series events. Not an egg salad fan? Well, I have good news for you. You can buy something delicious from food trucks and vendors at most of the music events on our list.

The name Mirror Indy comes from wanting local news in which we see ourselves. In the arts and culture section, our goal is to feature the many amazing things happening in our city. It’s a big goal. Arts and culture means something different to each person — it can be theater, it can be a fancy art show or punk music in someone’s basement. It can be a crochet club at the library or wrestling on Friday nights. It can be a great cup of chai or a breakfast restaurant that makes people feel welcome.

Kneeland chose Black Leaf Vegan, owned by married couple Taria and Derrick Slack. The restaurant opened in 2021 as a food truck, and a year later the family opened the restaurant Black Leaf Vegan Café in downtown Indianapolis at 335 W.

At an Indianapolis church parking lot, 38-year-old Juan prepared for an upcoming performance on Good Friday. He wasn’t nervous to play the main part in the crucifixion story. A few dozen familiar faces made up the crowd, including his brother, dressed as Pontius Pilate, and his wife, who would be one of the weeping women of Galilee.
