    If you haven't heard the news by now, here it is: It's going to be hot, and it will stay hot and humid for more than a week!Our heat wave officially begins today as the high rises to 90 degrees. This will be our first 90-degree day of summer 2025. With rising humidity, the heat index will range from 95 to 98 this afternoon. The sky will be mostly sunny. On Sunday, we'll have a similar forecast—only hotter and more humid. Temperatures start at 71 and warm to 93.

    Today is officially the first day of summer. And Mother Nature isn't messing around with this forecast!Temperatures start at 67 this morning under a mostly clear sky. We'll warm quickly this afternoon, topping out at 86 degrees with mostly sunny conditions. This is considered normal for this time of year and the first day of summer. But the weekend brings the first heat wave of summer 2025, and it’s going to last for a long stretch. Highs on Saturday rise to 90. On Sunday, we'll increase to 92.

    The threat for severe storms is over, but that doesn't mean the potential for rain is completely done. We'll continue to see isolated showers and storms this morning and up through around the noon hour. Then clouds will decrease, revealing a mostly sunny sky later this afternoon. When it comes to temperatures, we'll start at 70 and warm to 80 degrees. With winds shifting to the northwest, it won't be as humid this afternoon. The sky will turn mostly clear tonight, and we'll cool to 64.

    The 9 First Warning Weather Alert Day begins today at noon and will continue through late this evening. Strong to severe storms are possible here in the Tri-State, here's what you need to know. Severe weather risks: Today's system could bring damaging wind gusts, large hail, isolated tornadoes and flash flooding. We are included in the "enhanced risk" of severe storms west of I-71. This is level 3 of 5 on the severe weather scale. A "slight risk" is in place elsewhere.

    Scattered storms moved through overnight, producing heavy downpours for some. For the morning drive, we should enter a lull in precipitation or only a few light showers. Temperatures are in the low 70s and it’s very muggy outside. When the sun rises, the sky will be mostly cloudy, and the forecast should be dry for several hours.
