The 49ers will have an opportunity to select an offensive lineman in the early rounds of the 2025 NFL Draft with picks No. 11 and No. 43, but hints from John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan have made it appear unlikely. The team lost two starting linemen during free agency, with Aaron Banks signing a four-year contract with the Green Bay Packers worth $77 million and Jaylon Moore, who now is a member of the Kansas City Chiefs after signing a two-year, $30 million contract.

PALM BEACH, Fla. — The 49ers have some work ahead to find the linebacker who will line up alongside Fred Warner during the 2025 NFL season. At the NFL Annual Meeting, both general manager John Lynch and coach Kyle Shanahan addressed the need for someone to step up after the departure of Dre Greenlaw, who signed a three-year, $31.5 million contract with the Denver Broncos in NFL free agency.

SANTA CLARA — A very familiar face was back in Santa Clara on Wednesday as the 49ers hosted their local pro day. While nearly 50 NFL draft prospects warmed up on the field, defensive coordinator Robert Saleh joined the 49ers' staff assembled on the field. San Francisco's position coaches worked with their specific positional prospects, as Saleh spent most of the practice in the center of the field chatting with general manager John Lynch and coach Kyle Shanahan.

PALM BEACH, Fla. — Bouncing back from a 6-11 2024 NFL season will be a challenge for the 49ers, but coach Kyle Shanahan is receiving a little help from a friend. The re-hiring of Robert Saleh as San Francisco's defensive coordinator could be considered the biggest “free-agent” signing of the 49ers' offseason. Shanahan recently shared during an open session at the NFL Annual meeting why bringing the defensive guru back to the Bay Area was so important. "We talk about everything,” Shanahan said.
