Then, a big shift begins on Mother’s Day with an upper-level ridge strengthening across the Upper Midwest and continues into next week. Temperatures climb into the 80s.

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) -A glimpse of summer is ahead today, with temperatures climbing 10-20° above normal. Many areas will be topping off well into the 70s. However, colder air follows tomorrow behind a cold front. Temperatures will drop below normal. This front swings through tonight with isolated rain. Afterward, there will be gradual warming into Friday. Another front swings through with spotty rain Friday night into Saturday morning. Rainfall amounts will be less than a tenth of an inch.

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) -The sunshine and dry weather continue for most of this work week due to high pressure. Our next front comes tomorrow night into Wednesday morning with spotty rain. Otherwise, cooler air comes in the wake of it on Wednesday. Another front will bring scattered rain showers on Saturday. Temperatures will trend above normal for most of the week. However, with the passage of a cold front, Wednesday will be cooler.

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC)—Grab the rain jacket! Showers continue to spread across the U.P. this morning. As temperatures decrease, the rain will mix with snow in the northern counties. It all clears out by the evening as higher pressure and upper-level ridging in the jet stream move into the Upper Midwest. This will result in a dry stretch of weather with sunny and warmer days. Above-normal temperatures are expected by Sunday through next Tuesday.

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) -Pack the umbrella, May begins with some rain! Scattered showers move in this afternoon across the Central and Eastern U.P. A second round comes tomorrow morning, which will transition to wet snow across the Northern U.P. Rainfall amounts will be around half an inch with isolated higher amounts. Snowfall amounts will be light and not stick, but quantities will be around half an inch. High pressure moves in for the weekend with an upper-level ridge in the jet stream.
