MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) -A glimpse of summer is ahead today, with temperatures climbing 10-20° above normal. Many areas will be topping off well into the 70s. However, colder air follows tomorrow behind a cold front. Temperatures will drop below normal. This front swings through tonight with isolated rain. Afterward, there will be gradual warming into Friday. Another front swings through with spotty rain Friday night into Saturday morning. Rainfall amounts will be less than a tenth of an inch.

Otherwise, cooler air comes in the wake of it on Wednesday. Another front will bring scattered rain showers on Saturday. Temperatures will trend above normal for most of the week. However, with the passage of a cold front, Wednesday will be cooler.

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC)—Grab the rain jacket! Showers continue to spread across the U.P. this morning. As temperatures decrease, the rain will mix with snow in the northern counties. It all clears out by the evening as higher pressure and upper-level ridging in the jet stream move into the Upper Midwest. This will result in a dry stretch of weather with sunny and warmer days. Above-normal temperatures are expected by Sunday through next Tuesday.

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) -Pack the umbrella, May begins with some rain! Scattered showers move in this afternoon across the Central and Eastern U.P. A second round comes tomorrow morning, which will transition to wet snow across the Northern U.P. Rainfall amounts will be around half an inch with isolated higher amounts. Snowfall amounts will be light and not stick, but quantities will be around half an inch. High pressure moves in for the weekend with an upper-level ridge in the jet stream.

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) -Minor flooding from rising water levels along streams, rivers, and waterfalls will continue to be a hazard from continued snowmelt. In the meantime, high pressure will result in a dry and milder day. A front will swing through tomorrow night into Friday. Scattered rain showers will skirt across the southern and eastern counties tomorrow afternoon and evening. Then, light rain comes in Friday morning across the Western U.P. and moves east during the morning.

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) -Watch out for icy surfaces this morning as temperatures have dipped near freezing. Clouds increase during the day, with spotty rain possibly in the Western U.P. Otherwise, our next front will bring scattered showers tomorrow afternoon and evening. Then, we’re expecting a round of more widespread rain on Friday. Rainfall amounts will be around half an inch to nearly three-quarters of an inch by the end of the week.

Then, as temperatures hover near freezing, a transition to wet snow occurs across the Western and portions of the Northern U.P. Snowfall amounts will range 1-3″ in the Western U.P., with isolated higher amounts possible. Additional rainfall will be around a quarter to half an inch.

It starts in the Western U.P. and becomes more widespread this evening. A few thunderstorms in the Southern U.P. could be stronger, producing hail. Otherwise, watch out for moderate to heavy downpours and rumbles of thunder. Easter weekend will be nicer. Tomorrow will be colder, but Easter Sunday will be above normal with dry weather.
