    For my birthday this year, I delivered a public lecture at the Marion E. Wade Center in Wheaton. It was alumni weekend at Wheaton College and the room quickly filled and spilled out into the hallway with interested listeners. The room was buzzing. It’s not my typical way of celebrating, but it turned out to be a delight.

In my experience, as a mother of three, full-time professor teaching and running grad programs, pastor preaching on the odd weekend, and a research-writer, it is very challenging to carve space out for endorsing another author’s book.
