A new player is about to make a splash on Canada’s swimrun scene. This summer, esteemed Swedish multisport company Otillo Swimrun will bring its signature swimrun event to Canada for the first time. Joining the global family of Otillo Swimrun races (spanning Sweden, France, and the US), Whistler, B.C. will host the inaugural Canadian event on July 7, 2024. Dale Tiessen, Race Director for Otillo Swimrun Whistler, said the event is filling a hole in the town left by the exodus of Ironman in 2019.

JAN 24, 2024 We're excited to announce that the 2025 VinFast IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship will be held in Marbella, Spain. Marbella will follow Lahti, Finland who hosted the 2023 event, and Taupō, New Zealand who will host the 2024 edition. Marbella will become the fourth city in Europe and the first in Spain to host the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship (Zell am See-Kaprun, Austria in 2015; Nice, France in 2019; Lahti, Finland in 2023).

Know thyself According to Psaila, the two most obvious and common signs that an athlete has overtrained are excessive fatigue and extended muscle soreness. Other warning signs may include difficulty sleeping, depression, elevated or suppressed morning heart rate, a longer heart rate recovery period (accumulating fatigue) between intervals, easy irritability, lack of confidence, and overall lack of quantitative progress. The most serious effects are ultimately illness and injury.
