    The United Nations’ top court today ordered the government of Israel to immediately let humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip but stopped short of ordering a ceasefire. South Africa brought the case before the International Court of Justice at the end of last year, alleging that the large-scale military operation Israel launched in the Gaza Strip in response to Hamas’ October 7 attack amounted to genocide under international law.
