I still wonder sometimes: Where was my mother going the afternoon she was hit by a speeding driver? When she wasn't at her job working as a hotel housekeeper, my mom was almost always with my dad, Eddie. My siblings and I teased them for how inseparable they'd become, but we secretly loved it. My dad wasn't with my mom that February afternoon. My best guess is that my mom was shopping for something to celebrate my dad's birthday, which was also their wedding anniversary.

This study was investigating the effects of a defined concentration of Fusarium mycotoxins, deoxynivalenol (DON) and zearalenone (ZON) incorporated into feeds on growth performance of pigs and the alleviating effects of a mycotoxin degrading enzyme (MDE) on the toxicity of Fusarium mycotoxins. A total of 48 weaning pigs was randomly allotted to four treatments for a 6-week challenged trial. The MDE product was a kind of mycotoxin degradation enzyme with esterase, epoxidase and peptidase activity.
