1 INTRODUCTION This paper describes the MERON model, which is an AI tool for the detection of acute malnutrition in children. MERON addresses the need for a practical, lightweight, and culturally acceptable alternative to current measurement methods, which are error prone and inconvenient in poorly supervised or insecure settings.
