Influential instrumental rock band Tortoise have not released new music since their 2016 album The Catastrophist, itself their first album in seven years at that point. But now, all of that has changed, as the band has just released its first new music in nearly a decade. "Oganesson" is out now, with a video animated by Rob Shaw. Watch/listen below:Tortoise formed in 1990, and were early purveyors of the "post-rock" sound, although their music incorporated several intersecting genres.

She is now gearing up to release a new album. Anatomy, out May 2 via Bella Union, follows her first studio album Pink Bikini from 2023. Canadian singer-songwriter Amy Millan, best known for her long tenure in indie rock/chamber pop band Stars, is gearing up for a brand new solo record. Her third LP, I Went to Find You, is out 5/20 via Last Gang Records, and is her first solo effort in over 15 years. Millan has now released "Make way for waves", the second taste from the record (following last month's "Wire walks") along with an animated video that was hand drawn and directed by Gaia Alari.
