MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - The buzzy Broadway musical-comedy “Some Like It Hot” runs through Sunday at the Orpheum Theatre in Downtown Memphis. Based on the 1959 Billy Wilder classic movie starring Marilyn Monroe, and set during the prohibition era, “Some Like It Hot” tells the story of two song-and-dance men who witness a mob murder at the club they’re performing in one night. To escape the mobsters, the guys dress up as women to join an all-female jazz band traveling the country.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Memphis-made screen star Stella Stevens was an “It” girl of the 1950s, ’60s, and ’70s, starring in films opposite Dean Martin, Bing Crosby, and even Elvis Presley. And now her son, movie producer and actor Andrew Stevens, is celebrating his mom’s career with a new documentary called “The Last Starlet.”“She was a tough broad, and she made her own way. Stuck to it,” Stevens said when Action News 5 spoke exclusively with him at the Oxford Film Festival earlier this month.
