Chatteris 2nd are just two points from the top of the Cambs & Hunts Premier League Junior Five North after a massive 295-run win at Wisbech 4th, who are now bottom of the table. In our featured match, Chatteris elected to bat and made an impressive 318-4 from 40 overs. Top scorer was opener Liam Boxall with 124, Daniel Lynch made 92 not out, and other opener Harry Matthews 41. Dilan Kant took 2-60 from eight, and there was a wicket each for Oliver Didwell and Jake Bowering.

A stretch of the A47, which was closed for much of yesterday due to a serious accident, is now open again with traffic running freely. The Fen Road was closed both ways between Wisbech and the Guyhirn roundabout after an accident at the roundabout involving a car and a double-decker bus. The route from the B198 Cromwell Road to the A141 March Road was shut after the accident, which happened around 2.30pm and has been described as ‘serious’, with the air ambulance in attendance.

The A47 is closed between Rings End and Wisbech after a serious collision between a car and a bus on the Fen Road at Guyhirn. The route from the B198 Cromwell Road to the A141 March Road (Guyhirn roundabout) is likely to be closed in both directions for some time, and the police advise motorists to take alternative routes. The accident happened at around 2.28pm. A stretch of the A47 is closed

A new exhibition is being held at the Wisbech Gallery on South Brink. While Blackfield Creatives, the non-profit organisation which manages the gallery, already hosts its Annual Open Exhibition, ‘DRAW 25’ is its first open competition focused on drawing. This new exhibition features more than 80 beautiful works of art, which have been created by 40 artists, located across the East of England.

Two Fenland businesses have been named and shamed by the government for underpaying staff. A vegetable grower from Upwell and a hair and beauty business in Whittlesey were found to have been in breach of the National Minimum Wage law. K J Curson Growers Limited, which runs a pumpkin patch in Upwell, and Boome Hair & Beauty in Market Street, Whittlesey, have been named following investigations by HMRC between 2015 and 2022.
