    A West Norfolk teacher has more than doubled her fundraising target to help the life-saving East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA). Michelle Ryan took part in the recent Lynn 10K GEAR run and was supported by pupils and colleagues at Clenchwarton Primary School where she has taught for 24 years. She initially hoped to raise £300 on an online JustGiving sponsorship page but this has been completely smashed and currently stands at £785.

    A charity which provides a vital service supporting families with essential baby items has been given a helping hand. Lynn’s Priory Rotary Satellite Club has donated £500 to the West Norfolk branch of Baby Basics. The money was raised from club members manning a stall at last December’s North Wootton Village Hall’s annual Christmas Fair, with the amount boosted by a top-up from club funds.

    A milestone number of free breakfasts have been provided by a charity which supports veterans. The Veterans Central charity at West Raynham Station Headquarters has been providing monthly breakfasts for armed forces and emergency services veterans on the second Saturday of each month since summer 2023 and on May 10, it had dished up a total of 1,000. As well as enjoying breakfast, the gatherings provide an opportunity to meet old acquaintances and make new friends.

    Dance school members showcased their talents to sponsors as a thank you for their support. Studio 19 based at North Lynn welcomed representatives from Balloon World, Greenyard Frozen UK, RL Engineering and SJP Solicitors to watch some of their award-winning dances and to thank them for donations towards uniforms which the dancers wear to competitions and awards.
