    Families enjoyed a free Easter Party at the Discovery Centre. Run by Freebridge Community Housing’s Placeshaping Team, the centre on Columbia Way at North Lynn, welcomed a host of children for an afternoon of seasonal fun. There were numerous family activities including face painting with Lynn-based Leah’s Little Faces, a cinema corner, an egg hunt, Easter arts and crafts and free refreshments for all who attended.

    A Lynn hotel, set to close for redevelopment into assisted living accommodation, is to stay open until after the summer. David Armes, proprietor of The Stuart House Hotel in Goodwins Road, has this week announced the extended opening saying the assisted care home project is “in the air” due to funding but the hope is it will eventually go ahead. Planning permission for the project has been granted but in view of the delay Mr Armes said the hotel will not be closing just yet.

    Tickets for a top fundraiser for West Norfolk’s Tapping House hospice have all gone. The Hillington-based hospice posted on social media at the weekend that all tickets for Tulips for Tapping have been sold. “We would like to thank everyone who has purchased tickets and we look forward to welcoming you to the tulip fields,” the post on Facebook said. It continued: “We understand that not everyone was able to purchase tickets this year due to the increased demand.

    Three groups of pilgrims stopped off at Lynn’s historic Red Mount on their long journey to WalsinghamMembers of the Northern and Midland legs of the Pilgrim Cross pilgrimage and a group from Manchester arrived at the town’s Walks on Wednesday. The Northern leg had travelled 112 miles from Nottingham and the Midland leg 114 miles from Leicester. The group travelling from Manchester and camping on route arrived ahead of the two official groups.
