This morning we had quiet weather again. We had lots of sunshine again. But we also had that overhead haze as well. As I mentioned yesterday, this haze is from the long-travelled wildfire smoke coming out of the numerous wildfires in Canada. The smoke dropped down to the south. Then the smoke rolled east. Today is seems that a wig waft of smoke will come back in off of the ocean. The problem today is that the smoke and haze may drop down a little lower.

Is it too much to ask for a few days in a row of sunshine and quiet weather? I guess so. Overall, our weather is going to be quiet for the next few days. However, there are a lot of extra details that are sneaking into the forecast that are worth noting. The first thing to mention is some smoke and haze coming out of Canada and pushing into our region. This has been a problem for areas to our west over the last couple of days.

We are coming off of a fairly good weekend. There were some storms on Saturday as expected. However, yesterday was really the start of a stretch of quiet weather. Sunday was great! We had fair skies with high temps in the mid 70s. However, there were actually a few storms last night. A weak area of low pressure quickly moved through the region. The storms and the low quickly have since rolled offshore far. They will continue to push out to sea. Today a cool front is dropping south behind the low.

Rain, rain go away… I think we’re all ready for some dry time for a while. It’s coming. But we have to get through a few more rounds of showers and thunderstorms before we dry out. This morning there was a soaking rain over much of the region. It caused a lot of problems on the roads this morning during the commute. The morning showers will push out as a warm front rises to our north. The front will keep moving north today with an area of low pressure and a cool front approaching from the west.

We'll have a mix of sun and clouds today. There won't be the widespread rain like yesterday, but there will be clusters of thunderstorms this afternoon. A few strong/severe storms will be possible. https://t.co/0P8PlBZXFG

Still lots of rain over the region. Some very heavy rain coming up through Virginia Beach. Showers should break up this afternoon, but the Flood Watch continues until late tonight. https://t.co/gLfcT8PNlu
