    WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Over 100 firefighters are on the scene of a house fire in Northwest D.C., according to DC Fire and EMS (DCFD). Firefighters responded to reports of a house fire in the 3800 block of Albamarle St. NW, where heavy flames could be seen coming from the home. The fire had started in the basement and then extended to all floors of the two-and-a-half-story home.     This morning we had quiet weather again. We had lots of sunshine again. But we also had that overhead haze as well. As I mentioned yesterday, this haze is from the long-travelled wildfire smoke coming out of the numerous wildfires in Canada. The smoke dropped down to the south. Then the smoke rolled east. Today is seems that a wig waft of smoke will come back in off of the ocean. The problem today is that the smoke and haze may drop down a little lower.

According to NCDMV, the scam texts “falsely claim to request payment for fees, fines or tolls and may appear to come from the NCDMV.”In addition to requests for payments, they also include language threatening consequences such as the suspension of the victim’s vehicle registration and driver’s license if the fee isn’t paid.
