The Northeast Nebraska iHub, in partnership with the Norfolk Public Library, is excited to announce the return of its annual Robotics Camp, providing local students with hands-on experience in STEM and robotics. The free camp will take place in two sessions this summer, welcoming young learners eager to explore the world of robotics and technology. The first session, designed for students entering fifth and sixth grade, will run from June 9 through June 12.

Pinnacle Bank, member FDIC, has joined the growing number of businesses investing in the Northeast Community College iHub in downtown Norfolk. Pinnacle has committed $25,000 to the project. The iHub is a 16,000+ square-foot, state-of-the-art workforce development and community fabrication facility located in the 700 block of West Norfolk Avenue.

Northeast Community College offers a variety of opportunities for students to seek internships. That was broadened to try to become an intern in Washington, D.C., working for U.S. Rep. Mike Flood. The Norfolk native represents the 1st Congressional District and is recruiting Nebraskans to become interns and work in his office. Austin Stewart, a special assistant to Flood, spoke last Wednesday, to business and other students about applying for internships.

NEIL SIMON CLASSIC PLAY TO BE COMING TO NORFOLK STAGEAuditions for a comedy that was a hit on Broadway, then a blockbuster movie and later a TV series are scheduled for next week at Northeast Community College. The Northeast and Norfolk Community Theatre will be performing Neil Simon’s “The Odd Couple,” with auditions scheduled for Monday and Tuesday at the Cox Activities Center.

Officials with Norfolk Iron and Metal have announced their support and a $250,000 donation to the Northeast Community College iHub project. The investment will support the development of a 16,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art workforce development and community fabrication facility currently under construction in downtown Norfolk. Started as a local hide and scrap metal company in 1908, Norfolk Iron and Metal has been a family-owned and family-operated business for more than a century.
