The 12-week old beagles, called Odin, Olive, Outlaw and Okeford, are all thriving. They were born to Jasmine, from the Pimpernel (Royal Signals) Hunting group, who ride out across the Blackmore Vale and Cranborne Chase. Puppies were sired by Saxon from the Wiltshire & Infantry Beagles. The puppies are Jasmine's second litter. Her first litter was born in 2019 - Knighton, Kinsman, Kestrel and Kindly.

Land at Church Lane, Churchill. (Image: GTH) THERE was a strong demand for bare agricultural land at a recent property auction. Greenslade Taylor Hunt (GTH) recently sold seven lots of land at Aldwick Estate, near Bristol, earlier this month. One highlight was 4.25 acres of agricultural land at Churchill, North Somerset, which was sold for £106,000 - much more than its guide price of £70,000.

Open Farm Sunday, held on June 8, is managed by Linking Environment and Farming (LEAF), and is aimed at educating people about farming. Since the first Open Farm Sunday in 2006, more than 2,000 farmers across Britain have opened their gates and welcomed more than 3.25 million people onto their farms. There are lots of events taking place in Somerset, Cornwall, Devon and Dorset, where farms are welcoming visitors and educating them about where food comes from.

Taunton Magistrates' Court. (Image: Newsquest) A WOMAN from Highbridge has been given a community order for assault of an emergency worker. Louise Gard, of Moorland Road, appeared at Taunton Magistratesā Court on May 12. The 34-year-old was ordered to take part in alcohol treatment for six months as well as pay Ā£50 for each assault by beating offence, so Ā£150 in total. Gard was also ordered to take part in a rehabilitation activity of up to 30 days.
