Darren Ashton, formerly of Heron Close, Minehead, was sentenced at Taunton Crown Court yesterday (May 9). The court heard that after an investigation by the National Crime Agency in the Philippines in 2022, they identified a British citizen, namely the defendant, who had been in contact with someone in the Philippines asking for images of young naked boys.

Stuart Hand, of Raymore Rise in Long Ashton, appeared at Bristol Crown Court today (May 9). The 38-year-old was found guilty of one count of rape of a child aged between 13 and 15; three counts of engaging in sexual activity with a child aged between 13 and 15; one count of causing a child aged between 13 and 15 to engage in sexual activity and one count of abduction of a child aged between 13 and 15 at a trial earlier this year.

(Image: Newsquest) A MAN from Taunton with a ‘considerable criminal record’ has been sent to prison for 20 months for being concerned in the supply of cocaine. Ryan Horrill, of Haywood Road, appeared at Taunton Crown Court today (May 9). The 31-year-old pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply a Class B drug.
