12 1/1 BUDLEIGH'S Fairlynch Museum & Arts Centre has reopened for the year. The museum at 27 Fore Street opened on Thursday, April 17, with an exhibition by the Friends of Fairlynch. This includes the colourful textile art of Brenda Thomas, a Budleigh Salterton artist, whose work is on show in the Exhibition Room upstairs at Fairlynch this year.

Around a dozen caravans and towing vehicles accessed the Victoria Park playing field after noon on Thursday, April 17, with local authorities "swiftly seeking their removal". A spokesperson for Taunton Town Council said: "Please be aware there is an unauthorised encampment at Victoria Park.

From Wednesday, April 16, the store on East Street will now facilitate click and collect orders. This means shoppers can choose from thousands of products online — including womenswear, menswear, kidswear and homeware — before picking up their items at a convenient time.

3 1/1 THE Chief Executive of Abbeyfield Living Society visited Wellington to assure elderly tenants of Ivy House and The Old Vicarage that the properties are staying open. In two meetings with residents on Wednesday, April 17, Paul Tennant also outlined plans for improvement works, which are planned at both premises. He was joined at the meetings by Cllr Andrew Govier and - at Ivy House - by Gideon Amos MP and the Mayor, Cllr Janet Lloyd.
