I really don't 'get' the buzz around modularity. For one, I like set-it-and-forget-it tech; once my keyboard is in situ, I'm not going to be regularly kickflipping it like a fingerboard to strap on extra bits. For another, my desk is messy enough as it is without a growing pile of modular attachments. As much as I love playing around with PC hardware like the expensive Lego it is, I've yet to see a truly killer use case for modular tech outside of what's already gone into my rig.

Silicon Power 32 GB Zenith DDR5 | 2 x 16 GB | 6000 MT/s | CL30 CAS Latency | Aluminium heatsink | $106.97 $82.97 at B&H Photo (save $24)It's hard to say no to 6,000 MT/s—harder still to turn your nose up at an offer of two 16 GB sticks for just shy of $42 each. The aluminium heatsink not only keeps temps low, but really pulls this deal together in a fetching white finish. Dear reader, I have a confession: I still haven't played 2016 Doom.

In a tale as old as time, I'm yet one more writer prone to procrastination.
This transparent HDD from Buffalo is both beautiful and woefully impractical-just how I like my tech

When folks talk about transparent hardware, I'm sure I'm not the only one whose frame of reference is still stuck somewhere between the mid-90s and the early oughts. Besides sleuthing with Barbie on the family desktop, my earliest gaming memories involved affixing my tiny mitts to my semi-transparent Game Boy Color.

The business relationship between audio brand Sennheiser and audio care conglomerate Sonova is a little confusing, but basically what you need to know is that Sonova finalised their purchase of Sennheiser's consumer division for €200 million back in March 2022. Sennheiser still makes their own studio kit for professionals, but amateur audiophiles are served by Sonova draped in Sennheiser's brand banner.
