A 45-year-old man has died after he was hit by a bus while crossing the road near the Perth Arena on Friday night. A Public Transit Authority bus was turning right onto Wellington Street from Milligan Street at around 6:15pm when it hit the man who was crossing the road. He sustained critical injuries and died at the scene. The 37-year-old bus driver was not injured and is assisting police with its investigation.

The WA government has announced it will establish a new parliamentary inquiry into the safety of e-bikes and e-scooters. A committee will be tasked with finding ways to make e-bikes and e-scooters safer and consider tougher penalties for illegal behaviour. The move comes after the death of 51-year-old Thanh Phan, who was allegedly struck by an e-scooter in Perth's CBD last month.

A 15-year-old girl has died after a four-wheel drive carrying six teenagers crashed in WA's South West on Saturday night. Police say a 16-year-old male was behind the wheel when the Toyota Landcruiser crashed and rolled several times on Scarp Road, near the intersection of Hoffman Road in Hoffman, just east of Harvey, about 8pm. The 15-year-old died at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash.

The City of Nedlands opposed plans to build a parkland on an A-class reserve near the new $34 million children's hospice in Swanbourne, which is due to open later this year. The Lands Minister John Carey has moved to take Allen Park out of the hands of the council, saying it has not maintained the space in "any meaningful way". The move to excise control of the land will be put to state parliament in the middle of this month.

A Perth mother has warned parents about her son's experience of being hospitalised with RSV, which led to bronchiolitis, pneumonia and him needing a tube to eat. She is urging people to get their babies vaccinated against the virus. The WA government has extended its free RSV immunisation program, which the preventative health minister says reduced hospitalisations of babies with the virus by 57 per cent in its first year.
