CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – An Auburn football player is recovering after he was shot last week in uptown Charlotte, according to a police report obtained Monday morning by Queen City News. Officers with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police responded to calls regarding the incident around 11:45 a.m. in a parking lot by 505 East 6th Street in Uptown. DeAngelo “Trill” Carter, 24, was found suffering from apparent gunshot wounds and was transported to an area medical center with life-threatening injuries.

BURKE COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – A victim said a caller pretended to be a local sheriff and demanded money from them or else they’d be arrested, the Burke County Sheriff’s Office said Friday. Two separate cases were reported to the sheriff’s office on December 12th. One victim reported receiving a call from someone claiming to be Sheriff Hinceman and that they had missed a federal court date and there was an arrest warrant out for them and to send money to nullify the warrant.
