There was shock and sadness in the village of Ballinamallard at the sudden death of Miss Doris McFarland on April 20, 2020. Doris was aged 59 and lived in Ballinamallard all her life. She was the only child to Andrew and Kathleen McFarland and after the death of her parents she moved to Barragh Gardens, in the village and lived there ever since. She was well known in the village and over the last number of years she helped out in the Oxfam shop in Enniskillen.

Tributes have been paid to well-known Fermanagh man and bowling enthusiast Eric Hamilton following his death. Mr. Hamilton passed away peacefully on Tuesday (December 5) at his home in Enniskillen. Arranged by WT Morrison Funeral Directors, Mr. Hamilton’s funeral will take place today (Thursday, December 7), leaving from his home for the service in Lisbellaw Presbyterian Church at 1pm, followed by burial in Cross Cemetery Enniskillen.

We asked Year 2 pupils their thoughts during a recent visit to the school. Smiling angelically, Rosie was confident that she was on the Nice list – but Bobby wasn’t so sure what list he was on.

Police investigating a number of reports of shoplifting in Enniskillen have appealed for information and witnesses. It was reported to police on Wednesday, November 29 that around £1,100 worth of clothing was stolen from retail premises in the Quay Pass area of Enniskillen. Inspector Tate said: “Two men were reported to have entered the store separately around 2pm. One of them placed a number of items into a bag before both left in different directions.
