Low pressure will work in our direction and continues to lift a warm front through the area Wednesday night, putting Mid-Missouri in the "warm sector" of a system that could bring severe storms Friday and likely rounds of heavy rain through the holiday weekend.

Weather Alert Day: Severe storms and tornadoes possible on Easter Sunday The ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Team has issued a Weather Alert Day for Sunday for potential severe storms on Easter afternoon and evening. A Flood Watch remains in effect through Sunday evening for an underlying and persistent flooding risk all weekend. As a front settled over southern Missouri on Friday, it produced scattered severe storms along and south of I-44, though damage reports were minimal in our area.

Weather Alert Day: Strong to severe storms possible tonight and Sunday The ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Team has issued a Weather Alert Day for Friday and Sunday ahead of the potential for multiple severe storms with all threats possible. Given that "cap" and limited instability near the surface, the tornado threat looks to be low with this setup. That said, storms could still produce quarter to half dollar size hail and 60 mph winds along with drenching rain Friday night.
