With his sex trafficking and racketeering trial looming next month, Sean “Diddy” Combs has beefed up his trial team by hiring Brian Steel – the veteran Atlanta defense attorney who won Young Thug’s release from prison last year. In a motion filed Tuesday in Manhattan federal court, Steel requested to be admitted as one of Combs’ lawyers ahead of the upcoming trial, which is currently set to go to jury selection on May 5.

RadioSiriusXM Canada is launching a new channel dedicated to South Asian music. That makes the satellite radio company the latest in a series of Canadian music institutions to put resources behind the massive growth of South Asian music in Canada. The new channel, SiriusXM Dhamaka, is available across North America on channel 796. The channel will play a mix of Canadian and international stars, as well as featuring exclusive artist interviews, live performances, talk programming and comedy.

Two independent Canadian country singers are making a splash on the airplay charts this week. Morgan Griffiths and Kelsi Mayne are both notching new debuts on the Canada Country airplay chart dated March 15. Griffiths arrives at No. 36 with "Bourbon," a classic-themed lovelorn tune about drowning your sorrows in a bottle. It shows off a slight growl in Griffiths' vocal and wouldn't be out of place on a playlist alongside breakout Canadian stars Josh Ross and Owen Riegling.

Karan Aujla, Ikky and OneRepublic are telling it like it is and climbing the charts. Their new collaboration, "Tell Me" has debuted on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100 for the chart dated March 15 at No. 54. The song is OneRepublic's first English-Punjabi effort. The band's singer and super producer Ryan Tedder was excited to work with Aujla after playing Lollapalooza India, where people were first recommending Aujla to him.
