The Kent Fire Department rescued 51 and 8 dogs from the Cuyahoga River on Sunday, according to officials. In a press release posted on social media, the department said it responded to the area of Middlebury Road boat ramp due to reports of 11 people that had fallen out of their rafts and could not get out of the fast-moving water. Officials said the initial dispatch reported six kids and five adults.

Youngstown Police Department is investigating a man shot and killed as well as multiple houses hit by gunfire during the shooting. Shortly after midnight on Wednesday, June 18, the department received numerous phone calls of shots fired in the 900 block of Lanterman Avenue, according to officials. Upon arrival, police said they found a man, 18, shot. Although life saving measures were attempted, officials said the man died later at Mercer Health.

The Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating a stolen ATM from a Mahoning Valley 7/17 Credit Union. Officials said the incident occurred just before 4:00 a.m. on Saturday June 14 at the 7/17 Credit Union located at 585 Youngstown Kingsville Rd SE (on Route 193 near Route 82) in Vienna Township. The ATM machine was stolen from the drive-through using a Bobcat skid steer, according to reports.

A new task force has made its first arrests in an effort to crackdown on Ohio organized retail theft. On May 28, investigators with the Northwest Ohio Regional Retail Crime Task Force arrested James Haley, 30, of Columbus, and Shondel Tyshon Smith, 27, of Reynoldsburg, on fifth-degree felony charges of identity fraud and forgery. Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost said the recent arrests of the suspected fraudsters mark the first success of a new task force created to thwart organized retail theft.
