The Q6 e-tron is not Audi’s first EV; they’ve been in the game since the original e-tron arrived for 2019. But it is the first one to arrive on an all-new premium platform electric architecture. So, time for us to get to work and find out if it’s a foundation that Audi can truly build on. It’s an interesting time in the auto biz, that’s for sure, as no one is really certain what the future holds for internal combustion engines or even EVs at this point.

The EV market is a hot zone for startups, Vietnamese maker VinFast being one of the most recent. Deliveries to their slow-growing dealership network are taking place, including one Maryland locale where we were able to sample the 2025 VF8. This two-row SUV is currently offered alongside the three-row VF9, with the smaller VF6 and VF7 on the way. They all sport a unique look; this VF8’s Italian flare was instilled with design help from Pininfarina, accentuated by its “Deep Ocean” paint.

Hyundai is adding their flagship to the IONIQ lineup with the all new 3 row electric SUV, the 2026 Hyundai IONIQ9, So we joined them down in Savannah Georgia to take a first drive. The styling really speaks to me as a child of the 80’s, as Hyundai continues to pay respect to the pixel in their design philosophy. It looks futuristic as can be and I dig it. Active air flaps up front are well integrated as well as a host of advanced driver assistance systems.

While not as adventurous as its big brother, the Edge-based Ford Bronco Sport is far from barn sour. A 2025 refresh ups the ante with a new Sasquatch package we took to some of California’s dustiest trails. Sasquatch is available on the Badlands trim, still packing the 250-horsepower 2.0-liter turbo-four, and the Outer Banks, using the smaller 180-horsepower 1.5-liter turbo-three. Ubiquitous is an eight-speed automatic and all-wheel-drive.
