MotorWeek

MotorWeek holds the title of the longest-running and most esteemed automotive television series. It first aired in 1981 and pioneered a new genre by being the first weekly program to provide consumer-focused reviews of cars and trucks, helpful DIY car maintenance tips, and updates on the latest happenings in the auto industry. Produced by Maryland Public Television, MotorWeek is broadcast on 92% of PBS stations across the country and is also available on MAVTV Motorsports Network and the V-me Spanish-language network. Having received numerous awards for excellence in automotive journalism, MotorWeek is a trusted source for automotive news both on television and online. Leading the show since its inception is John Davis, the host, senior executive producer, and creator of MotorWeek. The program is especially well-known for its popular Road Test reviews, where it assesses over 150 vehicles each season based on key consumer priorities such as price, practicality, performance, and fuel efficiency. Each year, MotorWeek recognizes the top vehicle with its “Best of the Year” Drivers’ Choice Award, which is presented at the Chicago Auto Show.

The Q6 e-tron is not Audi’s first EV; they’ve been in the game since the original e-tron arrived for 2019. But it is the first one to arrive on an all-new premium platform electric architecture. So, time for us to get to work and find out if it’s a foundation that Audi can truly build on. It’s an interesting time in the auto biz, that’s for sure, as no one is really certain what the future holds for internal combustion engines or even EVs at this point.

The EV market is a hot zone for startups, Vietnamese maker VinFast being one of the most recent. Deliveries to their slow-growing dealership network are taking place, including one Maryland locale where we were able to sample the 2025 VF8. This two-row SUV is currently offered alongside the three-row VF9, with the smaller VF6 and VF7 on the way. They all sport a unique look; this VF8’s Italian flare was instilled with design help from Pininfarina, accentuated by its “Deep Ocean” paint.

Earlier this year, we predicted a road-ready version of Porsche’s 963 endurance car was on the way following a press release detailing the history of the one-off, street-legal 917. As it turns out, we were right. The Porsche 963 RSP is another racer turned one-off, with just a single example of this IMSA and WEC championship winner being made. Fittingly, this new model was spotted on the streets near the Circuit de la Sarthe, rolling in tandem with the 917 which inspired it.

It figures the brand responsible for the car seatbelt as we know it would be interested in further improving upon its design, especially given their propensity for automotive safety. Axing the Ram 1500’s HEMI V8 was, by Ram’s own admission, a little bit of a goof. That’s not because the replacement, the twin-turbocharged Hurricane inline-six offered in both standard- and high-output variants, isn’t particularly good; in fact, the I6 is, also by Ram’s belief, a solid choice for doing truck things, and we’d have to agree based on our recent experiences. That doesn’t mean the V8 is bad either, though, and now you can see the complicated dynamic created by this powertrain shift.
