Having initiated multiple air quality improvement programs already, in 2023 the Government of Pakistan approved the Pakistan Clean Air Policy (PCAP). The policy was informed by an air pollution and climate change mitigation assessment.

Skip navigation Exposure to outdoor air pollution causes ~10 000 premature deaths each year in Lao PDR. Annually, concentrations of fine particulate matter (PM2.5) in the country are four times higher than the World Health Organization’s recommended guidelines. Due to the extensive use of biomass cooking fuels in the country indoor air quality is also a source of concern, causing ~6000 premature deaths a year.
