Kacey Smith and his wife, Wannita, share a love for cricket. He played in high school and in league cricket for Somerset Bridge and she loves to watch - preferring it to football. Now the pair have poured their passion for the game into a business venture. In January they opened The Lab, a cricket simulator, on the ground floor of 2 Midsea Lane, Pembroke. "Lab stands for learning about batting," Mrs Smith explained. The simulator has several purposes.

Bernice "Bunny" Kirsch's family really wanted to do something special for her 100th birthday. When they asked the Massachusetts-resident, what she wanted, the answer came back certain: another trip to Bermuda. She has been here at least five times since the Seventies. She arrived in Dockyard, on the Norwegian Jewel on Sunday with 20 of her closest friends and family. Twenty-two more people came by air.

Digicel is using Bermuda as a testing ground for electric and hybrid vehicles, according to the telecommunication firm's environment, social and governance report for 2025. The company said it was testing the alternative vehicles with the view to putting them into service more widely across their markets. It has also reduced the number of vehicles by 134, across Bermuda and the Caribbean, and plans to cut 100 more next year.

For years, Stuart Lacey has said jobs would not be lost to artificial intelligence itself but to other people with AI training. Now the founder of the Bermuda Clarity Institute, a company that provides educational programming on AI, concedes that some jobs will be lost to AI itself, maybe as many as 10 per cent to 20 per cent. "The job loss is real," he conceded. However, he believes terms such as the "job apocalypse", sometimes used to describe the impact of AI on employment, are scaremongering.
