1 IntroductionPlant diseases are responsible for significant yield losses (Savary et al., 2019), making their recognition a crucial task in crop cultivation. In the past decade, deep learning, characterized by two essential attributes inherited from classical machine learning methods (Kawasaki et al., 2015; Mohanty et al., 2016; Fuentes et al., 2017), has emerged as a promising approach for this purpose.
