YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – The City of Youngstown is looking for a jingle for the city’s marketing campaign. Entries were opened to the public earlier this summer. WKBN spoke to a local man who entered the contest about the creative process behind his entry. Paul Sheehan, 57, of Hubbard, said he has been playing the guitar for about 40 years. When he heard about the contest, he figured he would give it a try.

Just a block from the popular public beach, marina, and Leelanau Trail in Suttons Bay sits an inviting structure that started off as a cozy yet spacious home around the turn of the 20th century. Home to about 400 residents, Mesick more than quintuples its population during the Mother Day’s weekend celebration of the area’s morel-hunting heritage, which will be marking its 65th year in 2024.

Michigan is, indeed, a water wonderland. Heck, it’s even part of our nickname. So, it’s no wonder that we have some unique places to bolster that brag. One of those places is something many of us have only caught a glimpse of from I-75 at Indian River in the northern Lower Peninsula, while traveling elsewhere. Peer over the bridge and, on the west side, you’ll see a shore lined with homes, a marina or two, and perhaps boats meandering through the channel.
