    HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A cold front has pushed through the area and winds have become strong and will stay that way for today, tapering off later tonight and early Thursday morning. Wind speeds will be in the 25 to 35 mile per hour range with gusts of 40 to 50 miles per hour likely. A wind advisory is in effect for all of the Rio Grande Valley until 9 p.m. Wednesday.

    HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — As the first Total Solar Eclipse to affect Texas since July of 1878 gets closer, the chances of a cloudy to mostly cloudy day continue to be a like scenario for a large part of the state — including the Rio Grande Valley. While we are not expecting any rainfall, the clouds are looking to be quite stubborn Monday morning, April 8, through the afternoon. Some areas of Texas further north could see rain and even some strong to severe storms.

    HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Some areas of deep south Texas have received beneficial rainfall, but west of the Rio Grande very impressive rainfall totals will help lake levels at Falcon Lake. Future rainfall estimates through Thursday appear minimal, with abundant sunshine and dry weather expected Thursday through Sunday.

    HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — After a period of dry conditions, much-needed rainfall is headed our way beginning Thursday afternoon/evening and continuing to about midday Saturday. An upper-level storm system will be moving out of Mexico and across south Texas beginning Thursday. While heavy rainfall is not expected, pockets of moderate rain will move across in waves, especially on Friday and Friday night.

    RIO GRANDE VALLEY, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The coldest air of the season for the Rio Grande Valley is just to our north working its way towards Corpus Christi and Laredo. The cold front should begin moving into the northern portions of Hidalgo and Starr counties after sunset tonight or toward midnight. Passage all the way through Brownsville is expected no later than 4 AM on Monday morning.
